Recurrent ear infections 10 year old

Hello
My DD is 10 and has a history of recurrent infections. Started as glue ear, had grommets aged 2, and then unfortunately the holes did not heal so she has permanent perforations.
We use ear plugs for swimming and hair washing to avoid any water in ear.
They attempted to surgically repair one ear drum by myringoplasty but that failed.
She also has hearing aids for moderately severe hearing loss both ears which is not explained by the perforations alone.
She is getting fairly frequent infections despite being careful with the ear plugs. The advice is to use ciprofloxacillin drops but these are agony and she really can't tolerate them.

We're hoping for a second opinion from a different ENT but who knows how long we'll be waiting and it is so difficult to get into our own ENT clinic. GP surgery are great but it's the drops or amoxicillin (which I don't think works).

Had anyone got any experience of children with permanent perforations and infections? Have you also found the drops are too painful? Was any alternative offered.

Bump. Anyone with any experience? Since last post had different oral ABs from the swab result but still having issues. I think she may need the drops again but it is so painful for her to do them.
