Hi there,
I'm hoping for some advice please! My daughter had her ears pierced in July of last year with a very reputable piercer. In October I noticed that there was a small lump behind her ear, not on the site of the piercing, but in the crease. I took her to the piercer who was at a bit of a loss. She changed the bars of the earrings to a shorter bar, incase that was causing the lump to form, and advised daily warm compresses. Since then the lump has grown and is now close to the piercing itself. It doesn't cause any pain, is squishy to touch, and is clearly full of fluid. After visiting a Dr he has referred her to ENT , to see if they will drain it. He doesn't believe there to be infection of the piercing, and the piercer doesn't believe her to be allergic to the studs (titanium) as that would be apparent.
My daughter really doesn't want to remove her piercings, although if that is what we're told to do then that's what will have to happen. I just wondered whether anyone has experienced something similar or has some advice in the meantime!
