Help with ongoing leg pain-6yrs

My son has been having leg pain in his right thigh and groin for as long as I can remember. Since 2 yrs old maybe. We've been under a peadatrician who done bloods, x-rays and had physio. No obvious cause and was discharged with no follow up. Physio said possibly hyper-mobility but that it's not really a diagnosis they use anymore.

It's sporadic maybe every few weeks. Not worse after exercise etc. He does active hobbies which we were advised was good to strengthen the muscles.

He had a really bad night last night with the pain, barely slept. Calpol takes the edge off, plus massage and warm baths.

What else can we do? Any advice please?

Going back to the doctors is probably a good idea if the pain is that bad. Maybe video him when he is pain so they believe you.

For pain relief, have you tried ibuprofen? Tens machine?

My daughter gets leg pain. Have been told it's hypermobility related and to do a broad range of activity. Similarly she has been discharged from the physio. Not letting her go barefooted and keeping her in sensible supportive shoes all the times does seem to help. Also, never sitting on the floor.
