Brain bleed premature baby

Hello,
My little one was born at 27 weeks and unfortunately had 2 brain bleeds- stage 1 & 2. Can anyone shed some light on this and share their experience? I'm very worried about cerebral palsy and can't stop thinking she's at high risk.

My daughter was born at 24 weeks and had IVH grade 2 on left and grade 3 on the right. We were devastated and terrified.

The drs were clear we had to wait and see and that there were no guarantees. They did regular scans and we were lucky, the bleeds reabsorbed and today (she is 3 now) you'd never know it happened unless she had a CT scan. She is on a par with other kids her age and so the prognosis can be very good. It is just a painful and stressful wait. I really hope things work out.

My daughter was born at 30 weeks and had a stage 3 bleed. I’d have to check her records to even remember what side - left I think! She had frequent scans and was under a consultant for a long time. I do remember him showing me her scans and saying, ‘we treat the child not the scan’ as the initial prognosis was she might not walk/talk.
she’s now doing economics, maths and biology A levels and has five offers to study accountancy/economics/finance at universities.
At the time it all seemed terrifying (and we’ve always said it’s a good job she was our first as we were able to put so much time into her - she could ride a bike and swim by the age of 4. She’s now waiting to take her driving test!
Take it one day at a time - good luck!

@mummytrex I'm very glad things worked out and yes the waiting is absolutely terrifying. I hope your little one continues to thrive.

@falgelednl This is very reassuring and I am very pleased to hear how everything went. I hope they continue to make you proud. They are little fighters and capable of so much. Small yet so mighty!

Hi @mamaxxx I have been thinking about you and hope that all is well and your baby is doing well.

How old is baby?
My 26 weeker is 1 years old and has cerebral palsy. No brain bleeds. We have friends whose babies had g4 bleeds who do not appear to have cp.
