Pregnant mum and chicken pox

Hi everyone,

I am sorry to ask what seems like an obvious question but I cannot seem to find a straight answer anywhere online!

My son is nearly two and has caught chicken pox. He is on day 2 or 3 of spots. My wife is 14 weeks pregnant. This may now be irrelevant as she has been in contact with our son lots over the last few days and weeks, but should she be separating from him?

Thank you so much in advance.

Sorry, important missing detail. My wife has had chicken pox before, as have I.

1)Chicken pox is most contagious just before the spots appear, so too late
2)If she's definitely had chicken pox before, that will protect both her and the unborn baby

I think the issue is more so when the woman is more clos t

Ffs, my phone. More close to delivery, that the baby would catch it at birth or shortly after. Baby will be fine. She’s had it before, likelihood is she will probably not catch it again.

If your wife has had chickenpox she has antibodies so is in no danger.
