Nail cracked off at cuticle

Just wondering if this is a usual type of nail injury when getting fingers trapped.

16 month old daughter just her hand stuck in a drawer which is the only thing I can think of is causing the damage to her nail. I've had a Google and now got myself worked up as they always chuck in an awful condition when googling symptoms.

Is it just a trauma injury? She's fine in herself apart from not sleeping at night which isn't new.

Yes it looks like a trauma injury. The nail will grow out and fall off when it gets to the damaged part

My DD trapped her thumb on her bike a few weeks ago, it tore the skin to the point that clear stuff was coming out it was awful, been a few weeks and she still has a black nail

This is going to sound bad but I'm relieved 😅. My son never had anything like this after fingers being trapped and I have mega health anxiety so was starting to spiral that something was really wrong.

Thanks for the reassurance

Stay away from Google 😅

I am similar, last year I rushed my DD to hospital thinking her appendix had burst.... she was constipated 😂 then around 2 weeks later I took DS to hospital for the same thing 😂 I did think he was constipated but didnt want to risk it being his appendix

Might take a while to grow out but shell be fine x
