Hi this is my first post, but often use mumsnet for advice.
My 3.5 year old has HF&M diagnosed by showing photos to pharmacy, started with an ulcer at the back of her throat, then progressed to more sores on tongue and sores on hands and feet. Been 6 days so far she has been in pain with her mouth ulcers but generally not been too bad in herself and calpol has been amazing, as has lots of ice lollies and ice cream so we’re finally on the other side of it and she’s definitely back to her usual mischievous self 🙃… BUT
she’s passed it on to me, and I feel horrendous!!!! Like genuinely wondering how my toddler breezed through it?
my tonsils are swollen and covered in ulcers, my tongue has ulcers down each side, I can’t speak properly I’ve had one ice pop all day and even the sweetener in that hurt, i feel generally unwell, coming out in sores on hands and feet.
can anyone help? Any tips? Is this normal for it to be worse in adults and I’ve got people telling me it’s rare for adults to get it so now I’m concerned my immune system isn’t great .. I am anaemic though so I often suffer with ulcers but these are on another level. I even feel like it could be tonsillitis.
ive tried anbesol and bonjela so far, feeling really silly that im feeling so sorry for myself with this.
