Hi all, so my 13 month old little boy was a planned c section baby, on the large side (10 pound 5 oz) and ever since he was born he has suffered with nasal congestion. I took him to the doctors many times and also even A&E two or three times and each time was told, it’s normal it’s because he wasn’t squeezed out so has lots of mucus etc etc etc. I was also constantly told he has a viral infection , not much can be done. Now, I was told it should improve around the 9 month mark, yet here we are at 13 months and he still has the issue. It seems to be deep routed congestion as there is nothing coming out of his nose. Has anyone else had any experience with this please? It seems to affect his sleep and I think his eating as he gags a lot and doesn’t really eat much/ struggles with large pieces of food. I dont even know which route to go down - some people have said he may be allergic to things but I don’t know where to start :-(
thankyou

DS had what what I referred to as dry congestion during his first month. You could hear it, it affected his feeding, but we never saw anything come out.

Eventually I cottoned on and realised it was whenever I ate wheat (breastfed). Cleared up within a day of cutting it out.

Not saying yours is the same. But it does sound like an intolerance of some kind.
