First time mum here to a 19 month old with complex medical needs. Going through what I think is teething hell but keep thinking surely it can’t be THIS bad! Giving nurofen and calpol fairly regularly. Living on edge wondering if any of his other medical conditions are playing up.
Symptoms include;
- Inconsolable at bedtime or when tired
- waking regularly from sleep screaming in pain, very hard to resettle
- grabbing at mouth, face, ears
- Awful nappy rash, looks like blisters and burns
- poor appetite
- Generally clingy and sometimes tearful for no apparent reason
This has been going on for a week. His canines are sitting just below the gums on the top, one of the bottom ones has just poked through. Can it really be this bad?!
