Sensodyne and children

My 8 year old has just brushed her teeth with my sensodyne toothpaste by accident. She's not great at spitting out and didn't like the taste so swallowed it along with a gulp of water.

It says on the tube that it's not suitable for children but not sure if that means dangerous or just that children shouldn't be using it as shouldn't have sensitive teeth.

Any dentists out there who may know the answer.

I'm not a dentist but work for a toothpaste manufacturer.
You don't say what kind of Sensodyne but if it is Repair and Protect the 'not suitable for children' will be because the clinical studies to make sure the product works will have been conducted using adults only.

Additionally little children shouldn't have tooth sensitivity and if they do they should be checked by a dentist rather than using a toothpaste from a supermarket.

The ingredients will all be safe to be used by everyone.

Yes it was the complete protection kind that says it wasn't suitable for children but thank you. That helps a lot.
