Hi

little one had some spots on elbows 10 days ago braced for chicken pox but nothing else came
now has a few more on elbows and a few on back of hands…. Nothing on mouth yet but has been saying it’s sore (thought he’d bit his tounge)
are we getting hand foot & mouth for Christmas?

thanks in advance for reading

xx

Chicken pox normally starts on the tummy, has he had any there?
My DD had one blister on her tummy, and a few spots around it, that’s all she had for CP.

Is he itching? With those locations I'd possibly be worried about scabies.

Or it.could just be an eczema type condition, but I don't think HFM would be this slow to develop.

He's maybe had a mild version of HFM?

My son had it twice - first time he was absolutely dreadful and even his finger nails peeled off 6 weeks later! (Sounds more traumatic than it was - he didn't take it under his notice!) Second time, he had just a couple of spots on his hands and round his mouth and a slightly runny nose.

Both times the spots hung around long after the initial illness - which is maybe what's happened to your child?
