Scar on toddler?

Hi everybody,

This might seem stupid, but bare with me, as I have nowhere else to turn to.

My 3 year old scratched his nose about 7 months ago. It didn’t seem like much, as he has done this more often and it has never left a mark or scar. But this time after the scab came off, it has left his skin underneath lighter, with a red line next to the lighter area. The same has happened on his knee. There’s no raised (or sunken) scar. Is it likely that this will fade over time? I know no one can look into the future, but I am curious to other people’s experiences, as I am feeling very stressed about it (going through a lot lately).

Thank you so much in advance for your reactions!

Highly doubt something as superficial as this will scar for life, especially as he is still very young.
But regardless, this is not something to stress about (and you probably know this). Once children become mobile they won’t remain flawless and pure skinned. They will get cuts, bruises and yes, scars, which will tell their story.

My daughter did almost exactly what you've described. Not a very deep cut but right on the bridge of her nose, fell off the sofa at a friends house & hit the edge of a table. We left the scab well alone & she didn't pick at it. Once it fell off she had a very noticeable red line still but it's faded over time & unless you knew it was there & were specifically looking for it you honestly can't see it.

I'm sure over time it will become less noticeable I hope
