4 year old lingering temperature

My 4 year old son has had a temperature for 5 full days now. He has been miserable; very hot to touch and heavy cold/cough. Fever was hard to control but did reduce with meds. It is easier to control now, so presumably lower, but it is lingering and making him feel rotten. After full examination the GP said viral. Not looking for suggested diagnosis beyond that - just some solidarity and reassurance around a lingering viral temperature...when will it disappear?! 🥲

Oh no, hope he's better soon. Glad you got him checked, always better to check if the thought crosses your mind that maybe you should. That's a long run for him 😢

Thanks, it's been horrible for him. Myself and husband down with it now too and if he felt like this then I commend him for not being even more miserable because it is GRIM. Mind you I would take weeks of this for myself to see him better.
