That looks like a tiny baby, so you should contact 111 as pharmacies etc will be closed on Saturday night.

Twodogsandababe · 30/11/2024 20:15

Looks like heat/sweat rash, my baby had a similar after being in a carrier on a hot day. Have they been sleeping on you maybe?
If not, as pp asks, any other symptoms, have you checked temperature?

gamerchick · 30/11/2024 20:16

Is it just a rash. Anything else? Temp? Feeding ok? Wet nappies? How is he in himself?

Swissrollover · 30/11/2024 20:16

There does appear to be a line though, so perhaps a reaction to detergent/ fabric softener in the clothing, as it looks clear below the nappy area.

Newuser75 · 30/11/2024 20:19

It looks like my son did when he was a tiny baby due to a milk allergy.
However I'd call 111 just to be safe as he is so tiny.

Firstbaby1234 · 30/11/2024 20:21

He’s 5 months old, he doesn’t have a temperature, seems fine in himself smiling and laughing away, he is feeding ok. I haven’t changed any of the washing stuff.. I did use aveeno cream on him yesterday, could it be a reaction to the cream?

Though it's probably one of the following things (based on experience of my rashy child, not a medic)

Eczema
Viral rash
Urticaria
Sensitivity to weather changes (heat, cold, heating on, etc.)
Sensitivity to washing or skin product (washing powder, moisturiser, etc.).

I strongly suggest having a doctor look at it due to the age of the child. Just to rule out anything more serious.

Swissrollover · 30/11/2024 20:27

I had a baby allergic to Aveeno, so certainly a possibility. Good to hear that he's otherwise well.

Swissrollover · 30/11/2024 20:29

Just checking that it's not new clothing that hasn't been washed? There are some nasty chemicals used in new clothes, so it is important to wash them first, especially for babies and young children with sensitive skin.

Firstbaby1234 · 30/11/2024 20:31

@Swissrollover nope he’s been wearing baby grows that have been washed multiple times. The only thing I changed was using the aveeno cream (I just used it on his stomach and nowhere else) and that’s the only place the rash is

@Firstbaby1234 did you ever get to the bottom of your baby’s rash? And how are they now? Very similar looking to my baby
