Rota virus vaccine

Has anyone else's baby had abdominal pain and crying for hours after having rota virus vaccine??
My little boy who is nearly 14 weeks old had his first set of jabs yesterday afternoon (6 in1 & menb) along with rota virus.
By the evening he was crying uncontrollably and it took me over 2 hours to get him to settle and finally sleep. He seemed OK in the morning but gradually throughout then day he has been showing signs of abdominal pain ( drawing legs up to chest) and again crying uncontrollably. It's heartbreaking to see him like this and I'm just wondering if this is normal??
He's been having calpol as recommended

The nurse told me to avoid getting babies saliva in my mouth after the rota rotavirus vaccination as it could cause me tummy upset.
From experience, their vaccinations can also cause general tummy upset for a day or so sometimes.
Hope he feels better soon :-)

Hi, I'm a GP practice nurse and administer childhood vaccines.
Yes the rotavirus vaccine can cause stomach upsets and diarrhoea, but what you're describing (uncontrollable crying and drawing legs up) sounds more concerning than that.
I would suggest you take her to A&E to be checked over to be safe.
A rare complication of rotarix is something called intussusception, it's a blockage in the bowel, I think it would be good to rule this out for her quite urgently.

Thanks for your reply @StarlitTrees
He did settle in the end and managed to get some sleep, do you know if the intussusception symptoms come and go? I think if he seems to be in any pain today then I'm going to take him to a&e xx
