DD age 5 has the dreaded threadworms!!!!
She has a real bad infestation they have been in her vagina! Started early hours Monday she was screaming in pain during the night so I looked with a torch and there was loads of them in her bum on her cheeks and going in her vagina Ive never seen anything like it! Monday I had to take 1/2 holiday from work and fumigate the house was all the bedding clothes on a boil wash. Last night again screaming in pain i managed to lie her down and try to remove some of them but she wouldnt let me need her vagina and I dont blame her! Took her the doctors just as she was saying her vagina was sore, pretty useless male GP didnt look at her vagina properly and has now gave me the worming treatment twice a day for 3 days for a bad infestation.
Sorry for long post - my question is 1. when will this nightmare end!!! She still has wriggly worms in her poo 2. Has anyone had the worming treatment twice a day for 3 days? Even though Im welcoming anything to remove I dont know if dd will end up with a poorly tummy?
Any tips help advice wanted I honestly cant stop thinking about it xx many thanks in advance xx

What wormer is it?
Is everyone being treated?
If its ovex it takes a few days to work as it starves them to death rather than chemically killing them

Thanks for your reply, yep its just Ovex but instead of one treatment repeat in 2 weeks its twice a day for 3 days

Will she sit in a washing up bowl of warm water? I am assuming no bidet. How I wish we had bidets in this country. Every morning, most important, and every evening, it's very soothing, and you can wash her bum with some intimate wash. Soap is too harsh and will sting. Use Sudacream after to ease the rawness. Clean knickers twice a day as well.

Take the pills, and wash, wash, wash. Washing breaks the cycle almost as effectively as the pills.

Ill try anything thank you Ill try that now, shes crying now saying its sore 😣
How long do I need to wash her bedding for? Ill do it as long as it takes is it every day for 2 weeks 🙈

You dont need to change the bedding daily. She should wear underwear to bed and wash the area in the morning.

If you apply vaseline liberally over/around her anus and genitals, it is much more difficult for the adult worms to exit the anus at night in order to lay eggs.

I'm sure you know to prevent scratching as that will get eggs under her fingernails and the cycle will start again.

Thank you Ive just done this tonight, again when I pulled her knickers down there where 3/4 adult worms just on her anus and bum cheeks & some in her vagina, she actually let me draw them out bless her its a shame.

Daft question but can you see the eggs that they lay at night? Cant wait for the bastards to die already!
