Root canal 13yo - advice/tips

My DS had a hockey accident a few weeks ago knocking a tooth. We hoped it would be ok but the dentist has now confirmed that it is dying and will need root canal asap. It is one of his front teeth so we are keen to save it and I understand it can be more straightforward than molars with only one root. Any advice or support you can offer. He’s quite pragmatic about it - has had local anesthetic before for a baby tooth extraction a couple of years ago and he was fine - but that was quick.
I think I’m more nervous than him - probably because I’ve had a lot of uncomfortable dental work. I think it might be better if my husband accompanies him maybe 😬.

Hi, both of my boys had similar sport relating accidents with front teeth. They both had root canal work and were absolutely fine with it, despite it being a long process with multiple visits in each case.. Unfortunately my older boys' one didn't work, more of the tooth came off and he ended up having to have an extraction. He's had a removable denture since he was 13 (now 17) and may have a bridge or implant at some point in the future.
