DD continually coughing but otherwise well

We’ve all had the cough and cold that’s going around. DD1, who had it first (aged 9) is continually dry coughing now though. When I say continually it’s roughly every 20 seconds for about 5 minutes, then she’ll stop for a bit, then start again. I’ve asked her to try and stop, thinking it might be a bit of a habit, but she says her chest feels tight and coughing makes it better.

Shes eating and playing. Think she needs to be seen?

thank you

My first thought would be asthma. My DS is the same and was unofficially diagnosed with asthma at around 2 years old (he couldn’t do the peak flow test but he had countless chest infections, so he lived on prednisolone and asthma inhalers for years). I would go to the GP and ask them to check your child to see if an inhaler would help.
