Am I Over Feeding?

One child in nursery and one in school. Both have a hot meal for lunch. When they come home I’ve always made another cooked meal for dinner, roast, pasta, curry, jacket potato etc. Am I over feeding them by doing this? If yes, what would you give your children for dinner on days they’re already getting a hot meal for lunch?

No, I always offer a another hot meal, and both my dd's have hot school.dinner and hot 'tea' at after school club. Neither of mine will eat if full, so if they eat it, I figure that they need it.

If they're anything my like dd the amount they actually eat at lunchtime may vary. She finds the school dining hall noisy and distracting, plus some days she doesn't like what's on offer as much.

Use your own judgement! Do they seem hungry in the evenings? If yes, then great, if not, then a sandwich type tea is probably sufficient. Also, children's appetites tend to wax and wane, depending on if a growth spurt is coming up.

Unless you have concerns about their weight, then carry on!
