No knee reflex

Hi everyone

We are currently going through a long process of referrals and tests for our 9 year old. He has ASD and hypermobility. He is being assessed for autoimmune conditions and also other conditions.

At his appointment this week, the paediatrician checked all his reflexes. There was no movement at all when she tapped his knees, she tried about 10 times on each knee. She said "no knee reflex". She carried on assessing everything else. I'm kicking myself for not asking any questions.

Has anyone's child had this before?

As an isolated finding it might not mean anything if other aspects of muscle tone / power / reflexes are normal. Do they write clinic letters directly to you? May be mentioned in that. Presumably they are seeing you again (with results of other investigations that you mentioned) so you can always check in about it then (they can re-examine then if they want as well).
