To Think That Every Weekend It's Another Virus

Another weekend has clocked in and DD 15 months has yet another wild bouncing temp again that started teatime on Thursday. Off her food but taking some milk. Nappies still wet. She is now refusing pain relief from syringe / spoon / yoghurt / puree. When does this stop 😵‍💫 can't get out or do anything with a sick child I feel I am letting everyone down and the house is a tip too.

Is she in nursery? My daughter was the same around this age, and winter time was a real struggle. For us it got loads better during the spring / summer! I feel your pain though as it’s awful being home with a poorly baby x

She is, apologies for my delayed reply we ended up at the hospital as she had a cluster of febrile convulsions, they are saying it's viral with tonsillitis and to keep going with pain relief religiously along with offering plenty fluids.

Sorry you are going through this OP and I hope your DD feels better soon It’s so awful isn’t it. My DD had a new virus every week or two last winter from Oct to about Mar and it was truly awful for all of us. She also had a febrile convulsion during one of the fevers but thankfully hasn’t had one since. It got much better over Spring and Summer but we have a few bugs already this Autumn so I’m dreading another bad winter.

It feels relentless 🫠 DH is fortunately able to be off tomorrow so can be default parent. Temperature has been bouncing around again today but not as high thankfully 🤞🏻 off her food for the main and has had quite a lot of milk instead today. My friends weren't joking when they said save your leave for the first winter of nursery 😣
