Threadworm in child

On Monday evening I found a few threadworms in my sons poo. Got the treatment (Ovex liquid) Tuesday morning and gave him a dose. Wednesday and yesterday we had a few in his poos (they appeared dead). He's done a poo this afternoon and there was a LOT of worms in it (2 or 3 moving, but the rest seemed still). But on cleaning him up he's had quite a few come out of his bum and they're all still alive. I've done two checks since his poo an hour or so ago and he's had a few more come out since, all alive. Is this normal? I thought it would've started working by now and any coming out would all be dead 😑

Just another update, he's just done another poo now and there's quite a lot of worms in there, all wiggling about. I really don't know if this is normal or not...

How is your little one? Did you talk to your GP?

Hi, this is happening to my kids now, can you please tell me how it worked out for you?

SengaNaLenga · 04/03/2025 21:38

Hi Rowan, it's normal. They don't come out in poo normally - it's because the Ovex is working and they are dying that they're all coming out. I've seen them moving in poo when I treated my kids. It's gross, but it means it's worked.

Thanks for your reply! The problem is that I am seeing them moving around my daughters bum and It’s been 3.5 days since I treated everyone. Apparently it should have killed them all within 3 days. I’ve seen them moving every day since I treated them
