Can gastroenteritis cause problems two weeks later?

DD7 had a bout of gastroenteritis over two weeks ago. Threw up for about 48 hours and had stomach cramps for over a week every time she ate anything. It was the first time she'd vomited and she found it very upsetting and painful. She's been fine and eating a normal diet for ten days, but this evening at dinner in a restaurant she suddenly thought she would be sick and said her throat hurt (which I think is acid?). I got her home and she did a runny poo, then felt nauseous with stomach cramps for a couple of hours before falling asleep.

Can gastroenteritis hang around like this? She also has a peanut allergy, which we've had no issue with since she was a baby but I'm suddenly freaking out that this might have been a reaction rather than a stomach issue.

We had something similar a few years ago. 2 weeks later a bout of sickness again and apparently it can be common
