Extra blood vessels in chest

Hi all.

My son had an ultrasound on his heart today. Was just routine test as he has developmental delay and other issues and Dr's currently don't know what is the root cause of his delays and our son is under going investigations and the heart scan was part of the investigations.
The sonographer said that our son has a murmur and also noticed some extra blood vessels in his chest that shouldn't be there but couldn't tell us if they were of concern or not and that he needs to send the images and report to his Dr and we have to wait for an appointment. Now we are sick with worry that something is wrong. Has anyone got any advice or knowledge on this please?

I don't think ther is enough info here to give you the right help or advice - you probably should ask the clinic to send you an explanation explaining the medical problem with specific terms as well as in simple language as it sounds as if not all the info came across clearly at the time.
