6 year old child.
severe/extreme tummy pain where they are doubled over screaming.
sent away from A&E twice after bloods and urine all fine.
not constipated, 9 days in and no respite from intermittent chronic pain.
does seem to get worse at night.
dont want to go back to A&E to be sent away again!
any advice please?

I would go back and insist on an ultrasound, they can't keep sending a 6 year old away that's ridiculous. Have they ruled out appendicitis?

Thanks for replying.
Yes as they did bloods and urine and it hasn’t got worse, it’s stayed the same.
I asked for a scan before but they said it wasn’t needed!
I feel very dismissed like I’m being a nuisance. Pain is not constant, child can be fine for hours and then writhing in pain.

We had exactly the same at similar age and ended up going to a private GP who prescribed medication for constipation. It cleared it completely but we also had abdominal scan and h. Pylori test to make sure we knew what is was. A&E were useless and didn't know what is was as it didn't look like blockage.

My son used to suffer from this kind of pain when he was stressed

Have tou been to the gp? That is who will be able to make referrals for investigation. All a and e will do is make sure you're not dying and send you home.

Trapped wind/ gas is extremely painful and causes intermittent pain.

Peppermint tea/warmth/relaxation/yoga poses (on back with knees up in chest and rolling side to side) can help.

Definitely not constipated, even gave us medication which has been taken for 5 days, so it’s not this.
