Chickenpox for next child

Hello. My son got chickenpox and came down with it on the 27th September. It’s been 2 weeks today that he started showing symptoms of it. However my daughter who’s a year younger still hasn’t come down with it. We have Devon on the 1st November. Any advice on if and when she will catch it? A lot of people are saying 2 weeks or 21 days, if she hadn’t caught it by next Saturday (which is 21 full days after first child) would I assume she hadn’t caught it? Feel abit worried about us going away but surly she would come down with it by now or more then likely in the next week?

They don't always.

My sister had it when I was 5yo. My friends had it at various points. Never tried to keep us apart.
I didn't get it until I was 20yo and at uni and no one else had it.

In my dc's case it was about 2-3 weeks. But dd1 had it really mildly (think less than 50 spots and never really ill). Dd2 was 6 months, still fully breastfed, and had it really badly. Only really one spot... because it covered her.
I was told that often the sibling does get it worse.

With my 2 it was about 2.5 weeks I think. I think if there are no signs of it by 1st November then she's probably dodged it. Even if she gets it after 3 weeks you should probably be fine for your holiday as that will be nearly 2 weeks later.

About two weeks between my two both had it around two weeks.

My 7 month old has it and my 2 year old didn’t catch it (despite the fact they were being bathed together etc🤯)
hr did however get them exactly a year later? The mind boggles
