Loose stool in 3 year old

Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can help me.

My 3 year old daughter, for the last 7 days, has been passing very loose stools but ONLY once a day (which is her normal routine for doing a poo).

She was off nursery for a week last week as they assumed it was the start of a tummy bug but she's fine in herself. Eating, drinking, playing, and being a normal stroppy 3 year old.

I went to the pharmacist on Saturday as I was concerned it wasn't hardening up and was still loose and they suggested I get some Entersogel for kids which she hated and didn't do much to be honest.

They're not overly concerned because she is fine in herself and as it's only happening once a day, but I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else? Her poo is usually a very 'normal' consistency so it's raised my concern slightly.

Want to add that both me and my husband haven't caught anything, or had any rumble of a bad tummy which suggests to me it's not contagious (?).

I plan to call the GP in the morning anyway but appreciate if anyone else can shed light on what this may be.

Thanks x

Could be an infection. Not uncommon foe diarrhea to be the only symptom if it is mild.

@BrainLife - thanks for your reply. Infection of what?
Do you mean like a bacterial infection in her tummy?

Viral or bacterial

My 3 year old has had runny poos for around 4 months, not watery just like baby poo. Unsure why but I read sometimes too much fruit ?

Has she recently has vaccinations?
