Can anyone identify rash

Can anyone help with what this rash might be?

DD3 first developed this on Saturday evening, I originally thought chicken pox or Hand, foot and mouth but it's not itchy, no fever, no lethargy or change in appetite. She's completely herself, loud, happy and full of energy.

I took her to a pharmacy who gave us some antihistamines in case of allergic reaction but it hasn't really helped other than made her sleepy. Pharmacy wasn't sure so advised GP, tried calling them but all appointments are booked until mid November

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm out of ideas.

Forgot to add, it's on her knees, forearms, wrists, inner elbows, feet, groin and fingers. Absolutely nothing on her chest, back or face.

Can anyone identify rash

Does she go to nursery? Could it be scabies? It's typically itchy but the locations you describe are textbook scabies (as I should know from spending hours reading up on scabies as I think I may have it).

I hope it's not though!

I looked at pictures of scabies and it does look similar although no signs of the actual burrowing or lines suggested on the NHS website, I've checked every inch of her skin, even checking her scalp and ears

Still no itching or fever, absolutely no other symptoms, the rash isn't getting any worse or any better either.
Given how contagious scabies is, surely myself, her dad or brother would have something as well. I'll keep trying to get a GP appointment

Bring them to pharmacist or Gp honestly without seeing it in person it's very hard to tell could be anything

I think it looks like hand foot and mouth, my son had a very similar rash with it and in all the same places ! But your best bet is the gp or a pharmacist

@Snowdrops17 & @cattywat I took her to a pharmacy on Sunday as our GP isn't open. They provided antihistamines in case it was an allergic reaction as they couldn't identify it however it hasn't helped, the rash hasn't changed at all, no better, no worse, still no other symptoms than the rash.

I'm going to keep trying our GP as well as contact the immunology department at the our city hospital to get an allergy panel done. I'm completely out of ideas, I don't want to give her Calpol or antihistamines repeatedly if she doesn't have a fever, itchiness or any other symptoms, it seems pointless and could potentially cause more harm than good

Did your son have any other symptoms such as fever? From what I've seen the NHS website Hand, food and mouth is normally accompanied by a fever and other symptoms, my DD has absolutely nothing other than the rash. It looks just like it, but it also looks like Scabies. She has absolutely no other symptoms, in fact she's probably more active than usual.

I'm so annoyed with our GP, can't even get a telephone appointment

Could it be molluscum? There's been an outbreak at school recently.

lovemycbf · 08/10/2024 19:56

@OneAndDon3 I was literally just typing the same thing molluscum it takes a long time to go away

cattywat · 09/10/2024 07:10

@Weverunoutofteabags No no fever or anything like that, he was a little fussy the night before the spots came out but we was actually in Mexico at the time and I just put it down to holiday tiredness ! Infact when the rash appeared he was fine!!
