Rash on 1 year old

My 1 year old has come up with a rash on his face, chest, and back.
The rash on his back and chest are mostly pink/red pin pricks and his face is largely pink blotches.

All he wants to do is sleep but will have random bursts of energy. He had a fever a few days ago which has gone now.

Currently waiting on 111 to call me back but just looking to see if anyone has any idea on what it could be as my mind is racing.

Could it be an allergic reaction?
When they’re so young I think 111 will always tell you to go to a&e. That’s always been my experience when asking for advice on something.

My DD (2 years at the time) randomly came up with rashes such as this, got worse over a couple days - 111 said hospital, they advised allergic reaction. That they can just happen at that age & prescribed steroids/said to take antihistamine.
Hasnt happened since - the only thing we put it down to was a change in cleaning product.

My 6 month old came up in a rash really similar to this on Tuesday. I rang 111 who said due to her age to go straight to A&E which we did, after lots of checks and observing her all day they said it was a viral thing and should clear on its own. It’s gotten gradually better and is fully clear now.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Had messages to say 111 are very busy. The rash has spread down his arms and belly so I'm just going to take him up to a&e.

Thankfully it was just a viral rash that will go on it's own
