My whole family had a vomiting bug last week (I had D&V but was thankfully the only one with that).

My son (5yo) started vomiting last Tues afternoon and couldn't keep anything down until Wed. Since then, he's been going 24-32 hours between bouts but has been sick once every day since Thurs.

He's ok in himself. His appetite is decreased and he seems a bit lethargic but, honestly, he's mainly ok. The GPs have just said to let it take its course but we have had three nights in a row now where he goes to bed, goes to sleep then wakes up at 9 or 10pm to vomit then goes back to sleep.

I'm concerned about him missing school but he's not allowed back until he's 48 hours clear. This vomiting once a day seems so bizarre to me. Has anyone else experienced similar? Any advice?

Not this exact scenario but i have had occasions where i thought my kids were clear of a vomiting bug until it came to night time . I kind of assumed stomach upset was worse in a lying down position as theyd be largely fine in the day

Have you tried avoiding dairy? When my children have had D & V it takes a week or so for them to be able to tolerate dairy without being sick. Try it for a day and see if it helps.
