What do you think this rash is?

My eight month old has got this rash in his nappy area - nowhere else. He is teething and has been a bit warmer to the touch but not a temperature. We are due at a family party today where other children will be present and I am trying to work out if it viral/contagious and we need to avoid taking him or if just a general nappy rash or linked to teething. Has anyone had similar? Thanks

Looks like regular nappy rash to me.
Mine always got nappy rash when teething. My Nan used to say the wee was stronger when they were teething. Not sure how much truth there is to that though !

Thank you. My little one tends to get a bright red area rather than these pimply type spots which was making me wonder.
