Suspected Carpel Boss (aged 12)

My 12 year old has just shown me a bony lump on the back of his hand / wrist. He says it's been there a while - I've literally no idea how I've not noticed!

I've googled and think it's a Carpel Boss. It's not sore and doesn't move. Google says it's rare for children.

I'd assume it was so to leave from my reading but last year we discovered he can over extend the thumb of the same hand. Is it weird for both of these things to just happen?

Do I need to get him seen?

Not ganglion cyst? More common in children. Can appear quite suddenly. Traditional remedy is a rap with the family Bible.

It doesn't feel like fluid - but could be, I'm no doctor!

Ganglion don't feel fluid. Back of the hand is a common place for them
