Toddler throwing up mucus but no cold

DD 18 months has been throwing up mucus for ten days. It's not normal vomit- it's all mucus, mixed in with whatever small amount of food she's eaten. It's clear mucus and is coming even after bf. She doesn't have a cold or a cough so the mucus is confusing us a bit.

She was admitted into hosp for one night, where she was given one dose of an anti-sickness drug and managed to keep some food down. They said it was a virus. She hasn't been given any anti-sickness drugs to come home, and is being sick again now.

Any ideas on what this could be? I'm very worried, as the doctors don't seem to be taking much notice of the fact that this is mucus and not straightforward vomiting.

TIA.

Could she have a chest infection or a blocked nose and be swallowing the mucus then throwing it up? Is she ill, or just being sick?

No signs of chest infection, no snotty nose, no cough. You'd never know from seeing her that she has so much mucus iykwim.

I think I'd be taking her back to be seen, TBH. 10 days is a long time to be ill like this. (Haven't a clue what it might be, I'm afraid.) I hope you have some luck with finding out.
