Head Shape

Does DS’s head shape look normal? He’s one in two weeks and meeting all his milestones. He’s so close to walking. When washing his hair and drying it, I feel like one side is flat and I’m constantly checking. Is it normal to feel the bones in the side of the skull? I’m looking into therapy for helping with my paranoia about this but just looking for some opinions/reassurance.

Please be kind,
a stressed, anxious, first time parent x

Completely normal

his head looks fine to me.

Coming from a parent of a child with a flat head, your baby's head looks absolutely fine to me. Very normal to worry about these things once you've thought it but he looks fine IMO

Looks fine OP. I know there is a huge thing about trying to avoid flat heads by picking baby up enough but no one’s head is perfectly rounded- I’m sure if you shaved them, half the population would have quite misshapen heads.

He has a very cute, regular shaped head.

Normal head…..I’ve worked in children’s community health over the years an beleive me I’ve seen some very odd shaped heads ( that were all completely fine)

Very normal looking head, and a gorgeous little face!

Looks perfectly fine to me. When my daughter was a baby we used to go to baby groups with another mum and her daughter and that baby did have quite a flat head. I never said anything. Baby met all her milestones at about the right times so was fine but I did often think, what an oddly shaped head that baby has! Anyway, that baby is now 7 and her head looks perfectly normal so I do think that in the majority of cases even flat ones even out quite a bit by themselves. But your baby's head doesn't look flat to me anyway.

That is a perfectly shaped head.

I had paranoia about DD2’s head shape, which was also normal as it turned out when I took her to a specialist Blush Blush. Don’t be me….
