13 months old-opening/closing hand fast often, normal?

I noticed he is lately doing it often, not too often (7-8 times per day, lasting 3-4 seconds), but it is weird movement with opening/closing hand fast.
First I saw him doing it while pointing to other cat, and I was not woried since it looks like he is calling her.

Then I saw him few times doing it randomly when not looking at anything and while sitting. I googled it and it scared the sh** out of me.

Beside that and touching his ears often no other weird issues at the moment, he met 100% of 12 month milestones, and already 80% of 15 month milestones.

Anyone noticed this behavior with their babies?

Well if it’s what I think you mean, it’s how they learn to wave. Any new thing can be repetitive. My DS used to spend ages looking at his hand when he realised it was attached to him.

The trouble with Google is it tells you anything.

Hi,

Any update on your LO?

I have a 12 month old (just), and he is opening and closing his hands and is fascinated when doing it. He is learning to wave and will do it sometimes, he tends to only wave goodbye to his childminder when I pick him up otherwise he refuses. It tends to be when he is trying to get to sleep or finished his lunch in highchair and isn't able to move around, if given a toy or spoken too it does distract him. He is too meeting milestones.

Thanks x
