13 month old touching ear often

He is doing it very often for past 3 days, touching edge of ear all day long.

There are no any other symptoms so i dont think it is infection or pain and he is not touching middle, just edges.

The only difference is changes in sleeping pattern and often waking up but i guess it is just another development phase.

Any ideas or experience?
Thanks

That was always a sign of an ear infection with my kids . Is it just the one ear?
Maybe its a comfort thing if not a medical reason

Teething?

Mine used to yank their ears when they were teething...

Might be, he has only 4 teeth fo far.
Was it excessive yanking in your case?

Teething? 4 teeth isn’t many for that ages so more are probably imminent! First molars are typical around that age too. Any other signs like dribbling or chomping on stuff?

Yep, quite a lot of yanking and pulling of ears!
