Tooth pain

Hi all,

My 12 year old had tooth pain in early June and when I took him to the dentist she saw there was a cavity in one of his baby teeth. She gave him a temporary filling (and expressed concern that he still had a lot of baby teeth though will give these another 6mths to fall out and assess at the next appointment).

Tonight he has come back from his grandparents in a lot of pain again. He's had some paracetamol, washed out with Corsodyl and salt water but the pain goes away for a short period and comes back again. He says the pain made him feel sick at one point.

Does anybody have any good tips to get through the night until I can call for an appointment in the morning?! I feel so sorry for him!

Is it the same tooth with filling that's hurting?

Bless him, my 12 year old has lost loads of teeth these past 4 months. As well
As two back adult teeth coming in which don't have baby ones below. So that will resolve itself. Don't worry.

If you have a big supermarket open near you, you could get anbesol adult strength gel. It's for 12+ and has lidocaine and helped me through a recent broken filling

Ah thank you! You just reminded me that I have some of this in the bathroom cupboard from when I had tooth ache last year. Popped it on and seems to have helped so far! 🤞🏼

Don't lie flat, try to get him to sleep more upright, the pain gets worse lying down.
