Red , hot, itchy outer ear

Hi!

DS is 3 years and since earlier today he's had red ear which is itchy and hot to touch.

Should I take him to a pharmacy or GP? Or will it get better on it own? Should I apply something?

No other symptoms.

Sounds like it's probably swimmer's ear (otitis externa), I get it if I don't dry my ears properly after a shower, it's bloody awful.
The pharmacy will probably give him a spray for it if you go there in the morning. I never leave it when I get it, it can get quite painful.

If you happen to have any Brulidine lying around that also helps loads.
