Plagiocephaly

Hi all,

Our beautiful boy is 11-months-old now and doing great. He’s meeting all his milestones and is a great baby. However, I’m driving myself mad convincing myself he has Plagiocephaly (a flat spot) on one side of his head.

I first noticed around 6 months but my parter said his head was fine. I’ve also asked opinions of others (grandparents, friends etc.) who say the same thing that his head his fine. I go through waves of noticing and not but find more recently I’m checking more often. My family are fed up of me going on about it. I’m trying to eleviate my stress by thinking everyone has different head shapes and that no two people’s heads are the same.

What do you all think of his head shape. Do you noticed anything untoward? If my obsession persists, I’m seriously considering going to anxiety coaching/therapy.

Sorry, just a paranoid parent!

Pop along to your local HV clinic and ask for their opinion.
Have you asked a health professional over the last 5 months?
It would likely put your mind at rest hearing all is (probably) fine from them rather than friends/family/MN.

He looks perfect to me Flowers

He looks perfect have you not had your 9-12months development check yet ask them when you go for that

He’s perfect and if there is a flat spot, it’s so minor that it would never be noticed by anyone. My own child had quite significant plagiocephaly which was very noticeable. We took her to a chiropractor who worked on loosening her stiff neck muscles as she always lay with her head on one side. But the flat spot just evened out and you would never notice it .
Try not to worry, he’s beautiful.

DS had his 6 month check but it was my partner who was in when the HV came and they didn’t mention his head after doing their checks x
