Newborn leg tremors

My DS is 7 weeks old. Whenever he stretches or is getting his nappy changed his legs vibrate/tremor. He is in his new bouncer at the moment and his legs are tremoring every minute or so, for 1 or 2 seconds each time.

I have taken videos of this and I am waiting on a call back from the GP regarding this.

I am wondering if anyone else’s baby has had this? Google tells me it could be clonus but there isn’t much info regarding it and the information that is there is pretty scary!!

Hi! Our daughter had myoclonic seizures (she was probably 6 months at the time, so quite a bit older). They are scary to watch, but having recorded them and being able to show them to medical people was really helpful. The seizures eventually stopped as she got a bit older. Hope you will get to the bottom of it soon! Xox

Thanks for getting back to me, I’m so glad to hear they have stopped and that your daughter is ok. Seizures sound so scary! How was it eventually diagnosed?

Hi! We were referred to a pedeatric neurologist.

All 3 of my grandsons had this, quite noticeable when they were tiny but they all resolved by the time they were 9-12 months

@Ohdearyme72 thank you. I hope the gp will refer us too.

@WitchyBits thanks, I’m glad it resolved for them. Baby was born 5 weeks early so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it. Did your grandsons get referred to a neurologist?
