Teething and diarrhoea

My daughter currently has 4 teeth erupting at once. She is well within herself and has no temperature but has very loose stools. The NHS guidance says that diarrhoea and teething doesn't link, but I've heard anecdotally that it can. Is this true?
I don't know whether to prepare for a bug or not

In my experience they are definitely linked. Something to do with all the excess saliva? Experienced with both of my dc.

My daughter always has horrendous nappies when teething especially when multiple teeth were erupting. Her paediatrician and dietician accepted this as a cause of loose stools.
My daughter has a particularly sensitive stomach and colds, allergies and stress also cause her to have horrendous poos. The night we moved house she poos 8 times in 2h!
