Different Dr's have given different opinions / diagnoses - what would you say this is?

Chickenpox

Thank you!

If not chickenpox, and depending on factors such as itching / duration, I’d also be wondering about molloscum.

waterfalls123 · 03/08/2024 16:23

Oh that's interesting, I've never heard of molloscum before.

This is day 6 - not much itching. But it is quite a small person who says 'sore' a lot. Has been soothed by creams

I’d be leaning towards chickenpox if it has come on acutely over the last week, especially with the apparent crusting, but yes, have a google of molloscum contagiosum.

PianPianPiano · 03/08/2024 17:15

Yeah, the scabbed over burst spots would suggest chicken pox to me too. My ds never itched until he was totally scabby and even then only occasionally - they didn't really bother him at all, so I wouldn't rely on that!

So no votes for HFM?

That may depend on where it is.

This is her thigh area

OP posts:
Tulip8 · 03/08/2024 17:48

If only the thigh then it's not chicken pox either.

waterfalls123 · 03/08/2024 17:57

It's not just on her thigh, but nappy area is def the worst, a few on her back, arms, legs, feet.

Very few on hands, none on mouth. Some behind ears.

Sorry, I was being a bit vague - as the Dr's doesn't seem to be able to tell me! So I was trying to deliberately not give me thoughts!

The spots seem to be behaving like chicken pox (appeared over 5 days, were fluid filled, then now like this). But I would expect much more on her torso if it was CP!

Here are some more photos… these were taken earlier in the week.
