Severe sleep apnea

My baby is 17 months and she has down syndrome.

Last week she done a sleep study and her oxygen wad dropping as low as 64 percent overnight and having multiple episodes. She's been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea.

We are waiting to go into hospital for 2 nights for her cpap machine and for her levels to be monitored with it.

No word from doctors since last week as they said they would call when the cpap machine they ordered is in.

When I googled severe it says life expectancy is only 8 to 18 years with oxygen therapy but then it says 75 percent of down syndrome people have sleep apnea and average life expectancy is 60 so that doesn't add up to me.

Does anyone have experience with this ? Will her life expectancy only be a maximum of 18 years ?
