Phoning gp tomorrow just looking for other people's experiences please.

My daughter is 4 and over the last month she keeps having diarrhoea on and off, not so much water but very loose, explosive and very rotten but sweet smelling (sorry tmi), she doesn't seem to be in any pain/no temperature, eating drinking normal and not losing weight.
She's autistic so only eats around 10 safe foods so can't see food being the issue when she hasn't eaten or drunk anything new for atleast a year. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this? I'm phoning the gp tomorrow I haven't this far as she has it for two days it goes for a few days then comes back, just to mention nobody in the house has had diarrhoea(or sickness) thank you

My DS5 is autistic, we have probably a similar number of safe foods.
Has been nuggets, onion rings & garlic mayo every dinner for almost 2 months now 🙄

We went to the GP about his bowel movements and the specialist who diagnosed his autism, did bloods and all came back absolutely fine, no deficiencies at all. Apparently loose bowel movements is common in autistic/ND children however the cause is often unknown. With DS it comes on randomly, absolutely no signs of illness and is often either a single loose movement or upto a fortnight.

We use this

5g of the gel mixed with 50-100ml of liquid each morning, has helped massively. Can be used daily, doesn't have a smell or taste, we usually put it in a cup with a little bit of juice

Unfortunately it is expensive and doesn't last long however we have used it past the instructed "use within 30 days of opening" without issues, our GP has said this isn't a problem.

My son is diagnosed ASD and we have always had soft stools. It's made toilet training impossible. They've been a little worse recently, so I've just bought the gel, good to know it might work! I've also bought some probiotic powders to try and improve his gut health.
