12 month old has a rash

So just a bit of context- 12 month old was poorly last weekend for around 3/4 days. High temperature, off his food, tired. Took him the docs and he was diagnosed with a probable ear infection, prescribed a course of antibiotics for 5 days which ended on Tuesday.

By Monday, he was absolutely fine in himself, fever gone, playing and up to normal mischief. Bit of a snotty nose and cough but nothing unusual.

On Friday he started with a faint rash on his tummy which has now spread all over. No fever, fine in himself, not irritated by the rash and it's blanching. I spoke to 111 yesterday and they said it doesn't really sound like he needs an out of hours appt as he's not suffering and it's probably viral.

So- anyone had similar rashes with their little ones? The spots definitely have a surface but not bumpy as such. It doesn't present as chicken pox and we've ruled out allergic reaction. My first thought was hand, foot and mouth but it is all over his body. Hoping to god it's not measles (he is up to date with vaccinations however). If it's still there tomorrow I will take him to the GP,

Is it dry like sand paper?

My little girl had a rash quite similar to this following a virus. Sounds quite similar, she had high fever etc for a few days then as soon as the fever went she developed a rash similar to this. She had it for about 2-3 days and then it went! So this could be a post viral rash? X

Thank you, funnily enough- I took him to be seen this afternoon and that's exactly what the Dr said, post viral rash. He's absolutely fine in himself thankfully 😅

My little one looked fairly similar to that when she had slapped cheek. The rash comes out later with that as well.

Looks like slapped cheek - my kids have all just had it, GP said it's doing the rounds.
