Seatbelt buckle hit baby’s head

My MIL was putting our 4 month old in the car and strapping the car seat in and she said the seat belt slipped out her hand and the metal bit hit front of babies head by accident and has left a little red mark! She feels terrible and has been crying, I am no way angry at her as accidents happen and my baby is smiling, giggling and feeding fine! Is there any reason for me to be concerned? First time mum here is it obvious?!!

If your baby is happy and alert, they are fine.

Babies are really quite robust. I once accidentally slammed my baby's head into the underside of the mantelpiece. He was absolutely fine.

Awww bless baby and your MIL she sounds lovely.

Baby will be fine, they let you know pretty quickly if a bump to the head is serious. If they’re alert and giggling nothing to worry about.

I hit DD’s poor head off the door frame more than once when I wasn’t used to carrying a baby though a door, she is fine.
