Infected chicken pox

My dd (2y8m) started with chicken pox on Monday. Last night she was inconsolable but out of it tired and sleeping for between 5-30minutes at a time. She isn’t eating and having tiny sips of water but she does have them all over her tongue and throat.
Her temp is going up to 38.8 then coming down to normal with calpol and back up before the next dose is due. She also has some on her belly and back with red rings around. Could this be the start of them being infected?

It's hard to tell but I would send a pic to your doctors if they have an online system to get their opinion. Have u been using calmomile lotion? Oats in baths? And NO ibuprofen

They do but won’t use it for under 5’s unfortunately. I don’t want to ring and have to take her down unnecessarily as my husband is at work and I have a week old baby too! Yes to both and poxclin also. Yes, just paracetamol

That's a shame. Maybe if you explain its chicken pox they may accept a picture for under 5s due to risk of infecting other patients?

Can kids have antihistamine medicine? It really helps with the itching. An yy to cool oat baths.
When my dd was 7 months old my whole house had chicken pox - 4 kids (inc baby) and dh. It's a horrible time Flowers

Yes, she’s been having piriton and is saying they don’t itch just hurt! It’s horrible seeing her so unhappy

She's got a lot of them. Poor thing. Some of them do look angry but I can remember some of them on my kids were worse than others and weren't infected.

I think you'll just have to wait and see.
