Congested 2 week old

My newborn (2 weeks old) has been badly congested for the last 24 hours. I know it's just a stuffy nose as we (first time parents who were overly worried on a Friday night) took him to outpatients to make sure he was okay.

All vitals, temp etc were absolutely fine but he's so, so mucus-y and really won't settle at all. He doesn't seem to want to feed from me either at the moment as it seems to make him more snotty but he's still seeking comfort. We've bought a humidifier for the room and have been trying to use a snot sucker with minimal success - is there anything else that we could do to relieve the congestion? Nurse only really told us to make sure he was feeding (he is from a bottle). Will this last long? We've already all lost so much sleep 😓

We had this when DD was two weeks old. We used snufflebabe saline nasal drops and then used the snot sucker, which made it much more effective. We did this before every feed and it seemed to make her more comfortable. Hope he’s better soon!

@Fleur240 sent my partner out for the calpol saline drops and used them with the snot sucker - seems to have helped ease the congestion! Enough for him to finally sleep thankfully - hoping it doesn't last much longer! Thank you for the advice x
