A week and a half ago my DS4 woke up with a strange mottled rash on his forearms. No high temperature or any other symptoms. He’d had a cold the week before so I thought maybe a viral rash. By lunchtime the rash was gone.
The next morning it was back and also on his upper arms, and again gone by lunchtime.
And so began ten days of the rash coming and going and appearing on different parts of his body - always arms and/or legs in different combinations, but never trunk, back or face. Some days less so, some days he’s covered.
It has a mottled appearance and is occasionally slighted raised to touch, but not sandpapery and is blanching.
We saw the GP on day 4, who thought it’s probably a viral rash or slapped cheek (although he hasn’t had the classic red cheeks).
It doesn’t seem to be itchy or bother him, but it’s strange to me that it’s coming and going? He’s had viral rashes before and they’ve hung about for a few days solid before going.
Any ideas what it could be?
