Post-viral? Something else?

My normally super healthy 11 year old got floored with tonsillitis a few weeks ago. recovered with antibiotics but he’s just not been right since - he looks tired all the time, his appetite has almost halved and he definitely is looking thinner. He’s been having quite a few headaches too. I have been putting it down to being post - viral but I’m wondering how long that goes on for and at what point it warrants another appointment. My other issues is he HATES drs after having to have lots of tests when little for something completely unrelated, so he’s hugely uncooperative at the gp and I try to avoid it at all costs, and I guess I worry that it’s such a vague list of symptoms that my fairly rushed and often useless gp will say let’s keep an eye on it and bring him back in 6 weeks if no better etc, And I will have had to drag him in kicking and screaming just for that, any ideas or thoughts as I’m going round in circles 2nd guessing myself ☹️
